INSIDE EDUCATION AND BUSINESS IN CENTRAL ASIA

Land Management, Environment & Solid-waste

Welcome to the website of the LESLIE project! LESLIE stands for “Land Management, Environment & Solid-Waste: Inside Education and Business in Central Asia”.
LESLIE aims to develop new capacities for Central Asian High Education Institutions (HEIs) to use in their future educational programs in the field of Sustainable Land Management (SLM).
LESLIE is a Capacity-Building in Higher Education (CBHE) action jointly organized by 14 partners from 3 EU countries (Spain, Italy, Cyprus) and 2 Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan). The project aims to design and produce a set of Micro-credentials and digital educational tools on SLM. These will be introduced in Central Asian universities, updating their current academic offerings at BSc and MSc levels, while ensuring that the needs of regulators and industries are met under the most recent and strict international standards.

Our main objectives are:
  • To create an International Hub on SLM in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, integrating universities, research centers, companies, industries, and stakeholders.
  • To design a set of Micro-credentials on Sustainable Land Management.
  • To implement a set of Micro-credentials on Sustainable Land Management.
  • To produce a set of didactic tools in digital format for integration as support material in the SLM BSc and MSc online educational programs in Central Asian countries.
  • To develop a Pilot Future Learning Incubator that includes the application of new educational techniques to promote and disseminate SLM to future 2030 university students.

The LESLIE project contributes to the Green Deal overarching priority of the European Commission, the external dimension of EU internal policies in the field of education, and the Digital Transformation of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Central Asia. These goals are organized into 6 Work Packages, and they will be accomplished during the project’s 3 years in cooperation with all the partners.
